What's a Seed Oil?

The number one conversation going on in my DMs:
Seed Oils 🔥🔥🔥
& this also happens to be my favorite health topic at the moment 👀
I’m going to be going in depth on seed oils over the next few weeks.. so today we’re talking about what makes them so toxic.
Industrial seed oils, also known as vegetable oils, are in nearly everything. If you use common cooking oils, eat pre-packaged foods, or dine out at most restaurants, you’re eating them every day.
They are:
canola
sunflower
safflower
vegetable
soybean
cottonseed
rapeseed
rice bran
palm
There’s a plethora of issues with them but I’m going to break down three today;
1. They act like toxins in the body.
They’re wildly high in polyunsaturates. Our body needs about 1-2% of our total daily calories to be polyunsaturated fats. When we consume more than this, they act like toxins and they store in our body fat- where they promote inflammation. Inflammation is the precursor to the majority of chronic diseases.
2. They’re highly processed to deodorize & make them colorless.
When seed oils are first made, they have an offensive smell & come out looking as black as the dirt. But they’re clear & have no smell when we buy them in the store.
They’ve been chemically altered to ensure you’d want to consume them. This is also what creates trans fats.
3. They’re processed with petroleum (tar) based solvents.
When you press an olive between your hands, olive oil comes out. When you press a cottonseed or a soy bean- what comes out? Nothing.
Major processing is needed to turn a solid into a liquid.
Using petroleum also maximizes the amount of oil extracted which is why it costs so little to make.
I don’t know about you, but I normally try to avoid eating tar & bleach 😅
